Nepal-China Chamber Celebrates Historic Milestone: Inaugural Export Under The Nepal-China Transport Agreement's Implementation.
I n a groundbreaking development, Nepal has initiated the export of goods to China for the first time in eight years since the Nepal-China Transport Agreement. The auspicious beginning of this trade endeavor was celebrated on Thursday through a collaborative effort by the Nepal China Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Supply Ministry, and the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu.
Secretary of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supply, Narayan Prasad Sharma Duwadi, and Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Chen Song, inaugurated the program, marking the commencement of goods export, starting with food items, destined for Japan through China.
Expressing immense joy during the inauguration, Commerce Secretary Narayan Prasad Sharma Duwadi emphasized the significant contribution to a favorable trade balance and the establishment of a global identity for Nepali products. He reiterated the ministry's commitment to simplifying processes for continuous facilitation.
During the same event, Chinese Ambassador Chen Song announced China's intention to streamline export procedures for products manufactured in Nepal, expressing personal commitment to promoting Nepal's development. Rajendra Malla, President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the auspicious start and expressed hopes for support from China and other nations for Nepal's holistic development, including export promotion and tourism.
Tribhuban Dhar Tuladhar, President of the Nepal China Chamber of Commerce, commended the positive shift from extensive imports to exports. While acknowledging China's support for Nepal's development, he emphasized the need for conducive export policies, suggesting that the government prioritize simplification to facilitate foreign currency earnings for the country.
